It can be tough deciding which service to foster with, as from the outside, they might look similar and as though they offer the same thing.

At evolve, all foster parents receive direct support, which is based on current evidence and has proven results. Below is evidence of the real, positive impact we and our foster parents have had on the children in our care.

Mollie

Mollie and her brother were taken into care when Mollie was just 4 years old following neglect. Although the siblings were originally found a foster home together, they were split up less than a year later due to being unable to find a suitable fostering arrangement that could support their individual needs.

Unfortunately, Mollie then went on to have a total of 7 foster homes in her first 2 years of care.

She’d lived with 7 different families in her 6 years.

Mollie then joined an evolve family.

She immediately received a mental health assessment, neurodiverse diagnosis and therapy sessions to begin to help her heal from her trauma. Her therapeutic foster family also receive training and ongoing therapeutic support.

As a result, Mollie has now happily been a part of her foster family for over 3 years, her longest by far since coming into care.

What’s more, once Mollie was settled, her foster family also had her brother Ethan join them. He too had 5 foster homes in two years. Ethan has been reunited with Mollie and has been a member of their foster family for over a year.

Due to the relentless advocation from her foster parents and support from evolve, Mollie is also now in full time mainstream education and is thriving.

Mollie and Ethan are proof that, with support from dedicated foster parents and real, therapeutic support, we continue to have a positive and lasting impact on children in care.
