In an ideal world, no child would enter care and so no fostering services wouldn’t exist.
However, when it is deemed that a child can no longer safely live with their birth family, the child is taking in under the protection of the Local Authority (more commonly known as local council). Whilst Local Authorities have their own, in-house foster parents, there simply aren’t enough to house all those in need of a home.
Unfortunately there are just too many young people in care.
Independent fostering services like evolve are needed to help cope with the demand of children in care. We recruit, train and support foster parents to ensure that the young people in their care receive everything they need to thrive. We also offer more personalised and specialist care than those of Local Authorities, such as therapeutic support, to better meet the needs of children.
A key advantage of Independent Fostering Services like evolve is our ability to make more suitable matches between foster parents and the young people in their care. This, alongside specialist training, ensures the individual needs of both the child and foster parent are met, creating longer-lasting, more successful and stable fostering arrangements.
