All foster parents can transfer fostering services.

Transferring fostering services isn’t uncommon, particularly if current foster parents feel they are not getting the right support, training or supervision from their own service.

For whatever reason you wish to transfer to evolve, rest assured your well-being, and that of those in your care, remains our main priority.

Other things to consider:

  • The process is simple
  • There should be no obstacles or barriers for you transferring
  • As is standard practice, when transferring fostering services, it will not be a detriment to you financially. As a minimum, you will continue to receive your current allowances and fees.

The most important things to remember for all involved is that the welfare of the child/young person is paramount.

The transfer process

  1. Initial discussion.
You may seek discussions before deciding to transfer services, but you must remain open and notify your own agency as soon as you decide to transfer.
evolve will work with you and your current service to help guide you through all statutory procedures and requirements.
  2. Assessment.
Much like when you first started fostering, we will complete all background checks and a Form F to evaluate your eligibility to foster.
Some services provide a ‘fast-tracked’ process. evolve won’t until there is a government-approved, rigorous process, that is safe. We believe in integrity and honesty. We are working with other people’s children, so we need to maintain robust procedures; we do not cut corners.
Would you really want someone looking after your child who hadn’t been through a thorough, rigorous, and appropriate process?
  3. Panel, approval and training.
We will liaise and communicate with you, your current agency, and the local authority, if you have a child placed in your care, to ensure a smooth transition.
Once the assessment process is completed, you will be presented to evolve’s fostering panel for approval.
